Amazon India Fashion Week 2017 – Day 4

In case you couldn’t make it to Day 4 of Amazon India Fashion Week autumn/winter 2017, here’s everything you need to know.

With their latest collection, designers Shikha Grover and Vinita Adhikari once again proved that laid-back elegance lies at the heart of their Delhi-based label. From the six-yard staple to fuss-free dresses, the duo presented a line-up of simple silhouettes in seasonal shades such as emerald green, navy blue, deep purple and black. Dainty floral embroidery accentuated the dark hues.

H&M Conscious exclusive collection
The last day of Amazon India Fashion Week also saw a sundowner, which celebrated H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collection. In its sixth edition, the line included everything from basics to red carpet-worthy pieces featuring recycled materials. The star of the collection was a powder pink gown made using Bionic yarn—a product of shoreline waste. Organic cotton and recycled polyester were some of the other materials used.  “With each collection, we want to experiment and find fabrics that are environment-friendly,” explains Elin Ästrom, sustainability manager of H&M India. The collection will be available in 160 stores worldwide starting April 20th.

Amazon India presents Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal
At this season’s grand finale, veteran designer Tarun Tahiliani and protégé Amit Aggarwal presented their interpretations of Amazon’s “Fresh New Look” concept with 80 looks on a runway that doubled as an enchanted forest for the evening. While Aggarwal’s collection focused on upcycled Benarasi brocades and Patola saris staying true to his label’s philosophy of catering to the environmentally conscious woman, for Tahiliani, Mughal armory-inspired art formed the basis of his ready-to-wear line of relatable yet glamorous modern ethnic separates divided into eight categories (Polka, Kashuti, Chikankari, Mondrian Damask, Renaissance Stripes, Constructed Drapes, Golden Weave and Hussar). A common colour story of rich jewel tones brought the two collections together.
